Every coach at the OSC, whether they are a paid staff coach or a volunteer, is expected to actively promote the philosophy of the club. This means that they will strive for excellence in everything they do, and will remember that their responsibility is directly related to the club motto – Advancing Every Player. Every coach will always act in the best interests of the players. All players should be given the opportunity to fulfill their potential, and if player development comes at the cost of a victory or two, so be it.
Coaches are role models, not only for their players, but also for the parents of their players. The coach’s conduct and behaviour towards officials will set the example for everyone associated with his or her team for what is acceptable behaviour. Being a role model is a significant responsibility, and it is expected that the OSC coaches will adhere to the ‘Fair Play Code for Coaches’ at all times.
