Media Information

OSC is the largest community soccer organization in Canada with more than 12,000 players, coached by over 900 volunteer and professional coaches. The Club is based at its 100,000 square foot indoor soccer facility at Pine Glen Road in North Oakville and carries the Gold Standard Award for Club Excellence from the Ontario Soccer Association. The Club’s tradition of excellence includes nine national championships, 54 Ontario Cup winners and more than 50 players selected to represent Canada internationally. Several hundred OSC players have also earned scholarships with universities and colleges in Canada and the United States.

Our Technical Team is available for interviews on youth and community sport development as well as national and international soccer topics.

Paul Varian (CAO) Paul brings a proven track record sports administration, leadership, business growth, and strategic development to OSC. Formerly the President and CEO of Sport BC, Paul served as an official VANOC ambassador to the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic games, and was Chief Executive of the Irish Hockey Association. He routinely is called to comment about youth and sport development in Canada.

Jason de Vos (Technical Director) A 20-year veteran of professional soccer, both nationally and internationally, and former captain of the Canadian men’s national team, Jason advocates for the improved development of the Canadian soccer system as OSC’s Technical Director. Jason is also a broadcast journalist, working as a soccer analyst with CBC and TSN, and blogger.

Rafael Carbajal (Coach Development Manager) With 20 years of coaching and coach development experience at youth and senior levels both nationally and internationally, behind him “Rafa” mentors all coaches at OSC. A former professional goalkeeper from Uruguay, Rafa is passionate about instilling a strong love, respect and discipline of the game in all players and coaches. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
