2013 Summer Open Development Program

The Oakville Soccer Club Open Development Program (ODP) is available to all registered 2013 Summer Outdoor House League players between the ages of U6-U13.

If a player is registered with an Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) member other than Oakville Soccer Club, the participant must withdraw from the other club in order to participate in ODP as the OSA does not allow affiliation with more than one club.

All summer sessions will run indoors at Pine Glen Soccer Centre and are one hour in duration.

ODP is led by OSC's highly qualified and knowledgeable professional coaching staff. Players are identified and tiered according to their ability levels to ensure they are placed in an environment conducive to learning.

The program runs a total of 12 weeks with the training curriculum centered around the Canadian Soccer Association's Long Term Player Development (LTPD) program.

• We offer age-appropriate soccer activities
• These activities promote a feel for the ball while teaching basic technical fundamentals of the game in a FUN but structured setting

Players will be taught the basic fundamentals of the game that relate to the technical components of soccer such as:

• Ball Control
• Ball Mastery
• Dribbling
• Passing and Receiving
• Turning and Shielding
• Running with the Ball
• Fakes and Feints (1v1 attacking skills)
• Shooting/Kicking

There is a themed technical topic each week that is led by OSC's professional coaching staff. All sessions will culminate with a small-sided game. Small-sided games will be structured as 3v3, 4v4, 5v5 and 6v6 to give players more touches on the ball and allow for the players to master the skills and have confidence to use them in small-sided games.

Player Identification is an ongoing process and players who show signs of potential may, at any time during the program, be invited into an Advanced Development Program or Rep Development Program practice IF APPROVED by ODP Director Ian Sinclair. Players can also be considered for the Red Division for the upcoming Outdoor Summer House League season if approved by ODP Director Ian Sinclair.
