Oakville Soccer Club’s Girls U11A team enjoyed success in Oshawa the weekend of May 5, winning the pre-season Frank Sobil Spring Classic Soccer Tournament.
Competing in the Top Flight division against some very strong competitors, these dedicated soccer players were able to win all of their games; a 5-0 win against Ancaster, a 3-0 against North Mississauga, and a 4-1 against Ajax. Winning their group sent them through to the semi-finals against Ottawa, which Oakville won. In very tough final against Whitby, Oakville persevered through player injuries and overtime play to win the final in a penalty shootout.
OSC’s other two girls U11 Rep teams had a great weekend as well, as both made it through to the semi-final rounds of their respective divisions.
Big thanks to U11 Girls Head Coach Danielle Bernier, the coaching staff, and parents for their time over the weekend. Congratulations to all involved.
