Welcome to the 2017 House League Development Season!
OSC’s House League Development Program provides players and their teams with one scheduled game and training session per week with their volunteer coach. Games and training sessions are conducted in line with Long Term Player Development. A 14-week curriculum will be provided to all coaches along with the support of an HLDP Coordinator. The HLDP Coordinator will also have one Staff Coach on each field supporting the volunteer coaches. HLDP teams will play within their own league, and will not crossover with House League teams. All teams will participate in an end-of-season Festival where each player will receive a medal/trophy and celebrate the season with a final game provided by OSC and corporate partners.
House League Development Program Training Format
The Global - Analytical - Global (Game - Activity - Game) methodology is a best practice that is used worldwide and is recommended by FIFA, CSA and OSA. Historically, a game is played at the end of a training session if time allows, if the coach feels the players have earned some game time, etc. This is unfortunate, as the end of the session is when the players are most fatigued. The GAG methodology brings the game back as the central focus of the training session and keeps the player at the centre of their development. As such, OSC is proud to introduce this training format and methodology into the 2017 House League Development Program training sessions. Click here to learn more.
