OSC - Dedicated to Developing Females in Soccer

The Oakville Soccer Club is dedicated to the development of females within the sport of soccer. Part of this commitment is providing strong, female role-models for our players to look up to. The Club is proud to boast strong female leadership in all programs and services provided by OSC.

The Li’l Oscars Program, designed for the youngest players in sport, is lead by an all-female staff of facilitators at the Club. Our Youth House League program boasts a strong representation of female volunteer coaches, assistant coaches, convenors, Active Start Facilitators, Learning Facilitators and Field Ambassadors throughout all age groups and seasons. Several female staff work in the Club’s Open Development Program, sharing their love for the game with participants in an individual development setting.

Our ADP, RDP and OPDL programs all boast a strong female coaching staff within the development/competitive side of the Club. In fact, several of these coaches grew up playing soccer with OSC, had impressive post-OSC soccer careers, achieved coaching licenses and have come back to the Club to share their love and passion for the sport of soccer with the next generation of OSC’s female players.

The Oakville Soccer Club is also proud to boast a strong female Match Official contingent, and an applauded Match Official Mentorship Program that features many stand-out female Match Officials who are spending their time and talents ensuring that young, female referees are confident and successful in their officiating careers.

We at the Club are proud to have experienced and dedicated female leadership within the our specialty programs such as Breaking Barriers and recreational camps. The Club is also proud to boast a strong group of women within its front and back-office staff, who contribute to the success of the day-to-day operations of the Club. In a continued effort to be a part of advancing the female game, OSC has hosted Vanessa Martinez-Lagunas, one of the most highly accomplished women within the sport of soccer, to facilitate a Female Elite Camp as well as work with coaches working within the female game for the last two summers, and will welcome her back in 2018.

And, most importantly, the Oakville Soccer Club is extremely proud of the thousands of female players who step on the pitch every season wearing our crest in all of our programs from Li’l Oscars to House League to ADP/RDP/OPDL to Adult League and Walking Soccer. OSC is proud to contribute to the growth of the female game and help the Club’s female players to become confident and accomplished women both on and off the pitch.
