Proof of Vaccination Requirements & Procedure

Proof of Vaccination Requirements & Procedure

As the Oakville Soccer Club prepares for Fall/Winter Indoor programming, the health and safety of our staff and community continues to be a top priority.

As you know, the Oakville Soccer Club operates out of the Pine Glen Soccer Centre, which is a Town of Oakville facility. As such, OSC will comply both with provincial direction as well as that of the Town’s Proof of Vaccination Program.

As of September 22, 2021, all individuals ages 12 years or older must provide identification and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (or applicable medical exemption) to access the Pine Glen Soccer Centre indoor facility. This applies to, but is not limited to:

  • All players aged 12 years and older that are participating in OSC program
  • All players aged 12 years and older who are participating in a rental at the Pine Glen Soccer Centre
  • All spectators aged 12 years and older
**All players participating in OSC’s Fall Indoor House League and/or Skills Development Program(s) aged U6 and under must be accompanied by one parent/guardian at all sessions.
All players U7+ can be dropped at their designated entry point so long as a contact phone number is provided and a parent/guardian remains in the vicinity of the Club.
  • All coaches, match officials and program staff.

The Town of Oakville’s Proof of Vaccination Procedure for Select Settings exceeds the province’s proof of vaccination regulations by requiring individuals between 12 and 17 years of age participating in organized sports to show proof of vaccination, regardless of their purpose for attending.

Exemptions
Children under 12, who are currently unable to be vaccinated against COVID-19 are exempt. Individuals who are unable to receive the vaccine due to medical exemptions will be permitted entry if they fall under an exemption in the provincial public health orders.

Proof of vaccination requirements
Individuals are considered fully vaccinated after receiving the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of COVID-19 vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (e.g. two doses of a two-dose vaccine series, or one dose of a single-dose vaccine series, plus 14 days from last shot).

Proof of vaccination will be required at entry, along with photo identification, such as a driver’s licence or health card that has your full name and date of birth and will be checked by the Field Marshal. Please be prepared to show proof of vaccination each time you visit the Pine Glen Soccer Centre. You can print or download a vaccination receipt from the provincial booking portal or call the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900.  An enhanced digital vaccine receipt is expected from the Province of Ontario as of October 22.

Update (September 23): Youth born in 2009 (or earlier 13-17y) and registered for OSC programming will be allowed access facilities if they show proof of vaccination of their first or second shot, along with identification, up to October 31, 2021.  Note: youth in this category attending as spectators (or for any other purpose) are still required to show proof of FULL vaccination.

ADP/RDP/OPDL Players
Players registering for the 2021-22 ADP/OPDL/RDP Program who are aged 12 and older must be vaccinated. As soccer is a team sport, and training sessions and games are to be participated in by the team as a whole, players are required to attend all training sessions and do not have the option to only attend only training/games that do not take place at Pine Glen Soccer Centre.

Existing Health Protocols
Visitors are reminded that in addition to proof of vaccination, existing health and safety protocols remain in place including health screening, contact tracing, physical distancing, face coverings, and proper hygiene to prevent the spread of the virus.
Respectful behaviour is expected towards all OSC staff, visitors and volunteers in accordance with the Oakville Soccer Club’s Friendly Fan Policy and the Town’s Rzone Procedure. There will be a zero-tolerance policy in place for disrespectful behavior and/or language and any in violation of these policies will be subject to removal from the facility and further disciplinary action.

Program Refunds
If you are currently registered in an OSC’s Fall Indoor House League Program, Skill Development Program or the Fall/Winter Adult League and are unable to participate due to the vaccination requirements, you can withdraw from the program without penalty until September 28th, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. by emailing info@oakvillesoccer.ca and completing the required paperwork provided at that time.
Refunds will not be issued after September 28, 2021.
If you are a rental group and the Proof of Vaccination Procedure poses an issue for your group, please contact info@oakvillesoccer.ca by September 28, 2021.
