OSC Celebrates Volunteers, Plans for Future at Club’s Annual Celebration

OAKVILLE, ON – The Oakville Soccer Club was honoured to host the Club’s Volunteer Recognition Event and Annual General Meeting on Saturday, January 28th. This marks the first time the Club held both events in person for since 2019. During the event, OSC celebrated the $37,500 Resilient Communities fund grant they received in August 2022. This funding has been utilized to support the creation of the Club’s 2023-25 Strategic Plan which was revealed at the event. Additionally, the funds were used to conduct a policy review and update for the Club as well as to invest in updating some technological systems and hardware to improve efficiencies for staff.

"Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Oakville Soccer Club and the driving force behind the success of our youth sports program. Without their tireless efforts, dedication and passion, our players would not have the opportunity to develop as athletes and as individuals. We are forever grateful for the impact they make on the lives of our young people,” said Effie Triantafilopoulos, MPP for Oakville North—Burlington.

“Our government is delighted to make this investment in the Oakville Soccer Club through a Resilient Communities Fund grant,” added Oakville MPP Stephen Crawford. “The club’s loyal group of volunteers and coaches work with youth and young adults to consistently strive for excellence while enjoying the sport of soccer. We are proud to have this highly valued club based in Oakville.”

As a leader in the Canadian Soccer Landscape, OSC strives to provide an inclusive and positive soccer experience for all. Volunteers play an essential role in this process, and the Club could simply not succeed without the hard work and dedication of these fantastic individuals. OSC was thrilled to acknowledge the 2022 Volunteer Award recipients for their dedication to the Club.

“We are so pleased to have been able to celebrate our Trillium Funding, our AGM and our amazing volunteers in person this year! We have been able to make significant improvements to policy and process thanks to this generous funding and the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation,” says Katryna Indewey, OSC’s Executive Director “The board and staff of OSC are extremely excited about our new Strategic Plan and the future of the Club. Congratulations to our amazing award winners, and thanks to everyone who donates their time and talents to us – we wouldn’t be able to do it without them!”
