OPDL Season Recap

The Oakville Soccer Club would like to congratulate each and every one of the Club's OPDL teams on a fantastic season! The regular season of the League came to a close on Sunday, October 24th. After terrific performances all around, OSC saw two teams advance to the semi-finals of the Gary Miller Charity Shield.

The GU14 Team finished 2nd in the West Division with a 10-3-2 record and an impressive 21 goals for during the regular season. The girls travelled to Ottawa for the semi-finals to play against Ottawa South United, where they put in a great effort, but eventually lost 3-1 to a strong opposing team. We are extremely proud of these young ladies, who played very few 11v11 games prior to this season due to the pandemic. Well done!

In the 2nd semi-finals appearance, OSC's BU16/17 team played a fantastic home match against Ottawa South United at North Park. The boys came away victorious with a 2-0 result and booked their ticket to the Gary Miller Charity Shield the following weekend. In the finals, OSC went head-to-head with a tough West Ottawa side. After great back and forth, West Ottawa eventually pulled ahead and won the game 2-1. OSC's team played hard to the end - we are very proud of you and all you accomplished this season as 2021 League Champions! The boys were overall winners of the Boys U17 OPDL Division, finishing 1st with a 13-1 record and 40 goals for.

Our other OPDL teams also had great seasons, with the GU15, GU17, and BU14 teams all finishing 4th in the West Division. The BU15 team also performed well, finishing in 5th. Both GU13 and BU13 do not compete in a division with standings, but also had great first seasons within OPDL. The Club is excited to see all players continue their development at OSC.

We are so proud of all of you! Thank you to the players, coaches, managers and parents - we can't wait for next season!
