19 OSC Players Selected For Provincial Projects
OAKVILLE, ON - The Oakville Soccer Club is pleased to announce that 19 of the 37 players from OSC invited to attend the Provincial Screenings have been selected by Ontario Soccer to participate in the 2019 Provincial Projects.
These U13, U14 and U15 players have been selected by Ontario Soccer based on their performance during the 2018 OPDL season and during the Provincial Screenings, which took place in November 2018. Founded in 2014, the OPDL is Ontario's standards-based high performance league. It combines top level competition with strict high performance training standards with the goals of developing the top soccer talent within the province.
The Provincial Program focuses on player screening, talent identification and benchmarking of players through competition. The Provincial Projects preparation weekend sessions will take place from January 2019 to April 2019. The Inter-Provincial Competition will take place in Quebec in April where Canada Soccer will be present to scout the players for potential invitations to National Excel Environments.
Chris Grierson, OSC's Senior Technical Director said of the selections: 'To attend the Provincial Screenings with close to 80 players at each age group and gender and be selected to be part of Provincial Projects is a wonderful achievement for these players. The Oakville Soccer Club is extremely proud and wishes all players the best of luck during the Provincial Projects.'
