OAKVILLE SOCCER RECIEVES GOLD CLUB EXCELLENCE AWARD FROM ONTARIO SOCCER

OAKVILLE, ON - The Oakville Soccer Club is proud to announce that it has been awarded Ontario Soccer's 2019 Gold Club Excellence Award. The award, presented on a two-year cycle, recognizes elite clubs that have met the standards for excellence among member clubs within the province.

Ontario Soccer's Club Excellence Award program was established in 2007 and has grown into an acclaimed, province-wide recognition program for effectively-run community-based soccer clubs, which offer safe, healthy and enjoyable environments for all involved. Since its inception, the Oakville Soccer Club has consistently achieved the gold standard, which is the highest award presented.

In being considered for the Award, community clubs eligible to be a part of the Club Excellence program provide tangible evidence of the required criteria by Ontario Soccer, which is carefully reviewed and evaluated. This criteria includes, but is not limited to technical programs, governance policies and community involvement.

As the largest soccer club in Canada, and the largest amateur sport organization in North America, OSC prides itself on providing quality youth programming at the recreational and competitive levels. The Club works hard to ensure that all members enjoy a positive soccer experience, and is proud to be recognized by Ontario Soccer for its efforts.

In 2019, the soccer landscape in Canada will see the introduction of Canada Soccer's Licensing Program. This national Club License Program is designed to raise the standards of soccer development across the country to improve the overall soccer system and guide soccer organizations toward best principles for organizational development both on and off the field. The Oakville Soccer Club looks forward to applying for this designation from Canada Soccer.

In response to OSC receiving the Gold Club Excellence Award from Ontario Soccer, OSC’s Executive Director Dave Harris said, “It is an honour to once again be the recipient of this prestigious award. It is a credit to the entire organization including the Club's volunteers, Board of Directors and staff who ensure that OSC is meeting the expectations of its membership each and every day. This is an award that shows we are amongst the very best programs in the province. OSC congratulates all other member clubs who have received the Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for their collective efforts."
