Sweet Victories at Hershey Cup for Boys U13B and U17B Teams

OSC's Boys U13B and U17B teams travelled to Hershey, Pennsylvania from May 26 - May 28 for the Hershey Memorial Day Challenge, and both finished at the top of their divisions.

After winning their first two games on Saturday morning, the U13 boys took on Commack SC Ambush in an attempt to qualify for the finals. With a swift 2-1 victory in that game, they advanced to the finals against West Islip Alliance. The boys put their best boots forward and took the victory with a 4-1 win.

The BU17 team found themselves in a tie within their bracket after the group stage and took the field bright and early on Sunday morning to participate in a penalty shootout against the Hershey Demolition to see who would advance. With some huge saves and great shots, OSC's boys advanced. In the semi-final match against Clarence Inferno, the boys were down after the first half but never gave up and tied the game with 5 minutes left. The boys ended the game with a 2-1 win thanks to a goal in extra time and advanced to the finals, where they played an excellent game and won their bracket with a 4-1 victory over Mount Laurel United Sharks.

Both teams represented the Club extremely well, and played with determination and excellent sportsmanship through the whole tournament. Congratulations to all players, coaches, team officials and parents on a fantastic showing at the Hershey Memorial Day Challenge! #GoOakvilleWild
