A Spirited Championship Win For OSC's Boys U15C Team!

The Oakville BU15C trekked out to Midhurst for the Barrie SpiritFest Tournament on June 8th & 9th looking for another title after their HEADS Up Cup win two weeks ago.

The weather was fantastic and it was a great weekend for soccer. The boys kicked off the tournament with three straight wins in the group stage and headed to the semi-final game where they bested Saltfleet Stoney Creek with a 5-0 victory.

Up against hosts Barrie SC in the final, Oakville created lots of chances but the score remained 0-0 at the half. After refocusing during halftime, the boys continued to play a determined game and were able to score two goals against Barrie's one and win the game to take the championship!

Congratulations to all players for their hard work, dedication and sportsmanlike conduct! Congratulations to the coaches and team officials, and a huge shout-out to the BU15C cheering section!

Keep it up, boys!

OSC's BU15C Team Wins HEADS Up Championship!

In late May, the Oakville BU15C journeyed to the HEADS Cup Tournament for the 3rd year in a row. After being finalists in the tournament last year, they were determined to go one better this year and win the championship.

On a stormy Saturday morning, they played to a 0-0 draw with Bolton B. As the skies cleared on Saturday afternoon, they shone brilliantly in a 3-0 win over Georgetown Mustangs. On Sunday morning, they dispatched FDSC Fusion with a 3-1 win. That put them at the top of the table and they would draw Bolton B again in the final.

After a tense battle and a 1-1 tie after regulation time in teh final, the game went into overtime and still remained deadlocked. In the penalty kick shootout, Oakville held their nerves to convert their first 3 kicks while Bolton missed 2. OSC scored on their fourth shot and wildly celebrated being the HEADS Up Cup Tournament Champions!

Congratulations to all the players for their hard work and sportsmanlike conduct! You represented OSC well! Thank you coaches, team officials and parents for their ongoing support!

At end of April and end of May respectively, the U13 OPDL Boys attended First on the Turf Tournament and the Umbro Top Rated Showcase.

These touranments were their first experiences playing in an 11v11 tournament/showcase format.

The boys enjoyed their experiences, even with the weather in flux, playing in -10 with wind chill at First on the Turf and +20 degrees at the Umbro Top Rated Showcase!

The participation in this tournament and showcase were fantastic development opportunities for the boys, and they rose to the challenge and represented the Club extremely well.

Congratulations, boys! We're proud of your dedication, sportsmanship and performance!
