Oakville Wild's Girls U14C Team Wins H.E.A.D.S. Up! Cup

OSC's Girls U14C team made the trip to Hillsburgh, Ontario on September 22 to compete in the fourth annual H.E.A.D.S. Up! Cup Tournament. 

Undefeated in all six of their games, the girls showed fantastic skill and sportsmanship all weekend. With 10 goals for and only one against throughout the tournament, the girls capped off a great season with a championship win!

Oakvile Wild's BU14C Team Wins the Richmond Hill Challenge Cup!

Last weekend, OSC's Boys U14C team headed to the Richmond Hill Challenge Cup to participate in their final tournament of the season. After four trips to the finals and one championship win in prior tournaments throughout the summer, the boys were ready to cap off their season with another victory. 

The Wild make quick work of the group stage, winning games against the Innisfil Stampeders (2-0), UMSC (5-0) and Vaughan Azzurri (4-0). With three clean sheets under their belts, the boys advanced to the semi-final match against the tournament hosts, the Richmond Hill Raiders. In a tense see-saw battle, the Wild prevailed in regular time with a 3-2 win and headed to the finals.

In unseasonable warm weather, the boys took the field in the championship game against the Oak Ridges Knights. With a firm 3-0 lead at the half, the boys added two more goals in the second for an enthusiastic 5-0 victory to win their divison.

Throughout the tournament, the boys scored 19 goals while conceding only 2. Once again, the BU14C team displayed skill, dignity and excellent sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Way to go, boys!

OSC's U17A Boys Capture GHSL League Cup

Congratulations to the Oakville Soccer Club's Boys U17A team for their GHSL League Cup win!

After defeating Hamilton Croatia in the opening round and then the Brampton Blast in the semi-finals, the boys took on Caledon in the final. After a 30th minute goal and a 70th minute goal, the Wild took the 2-0 win to claim the U17 League Cup in the Golden Horseshoe Soccer League.

Oakville Wild's GU16B Team Claim League & League Cup Titles

Congratulations to OSC's Girls U16B team on topping the PHDL Premier Division and winning the League Cup!

In their quest for the League Cup, the girls took a 3-1 win over Bolton in game one. In a 'Wild' affair in game two against OSC's GU16C team, the U16B team won 5-0. In the final against Burlington, the girls celebrated a 4-1 victory and claimed the Cup.

The Cup win was a fantastic accompaniment to winning the overall Premier Division in the Peel Halton Development League. 

The Girls celebrated a fantastic season, conceding only one loss out of every game they played including regular League play, League Cup games and tournaments. Among their many accomplishments this season, the Girls also won the Erie Premier Cup tournament in June. 

Throughout the season, the girls exhibited excellent teamwork skills, dedication and determination, and incredible sportsmanship both on and off the field. The Oakville Soccer Club is proud to celebrate the success of this accomplished team! Way to go, ladies!

GU16A Team Takes Championship in Ottawa

Congratulations to the Oakville Wild's Girls U16A team on taking the top spot at the Champions Showcase in Ottawa, Ontario!

Topping the Nike Mercurial Bracket, the girls tied Dixie 2-2 in game 1, beat Ottawa Turul 3-0 in game 2 and took a 7-0 win over Victoria Soccer Club from Alberta to lock up their spot in the finals.

In a strong game against the Erin Mills Eagles, the girls won the final 5-1 to take the top spot and win the championship title.

Oakville Wild's BU14C Team Wins Silver at Ambassador Cup

OSC's Boys U14C team travelled to Kingston, Ontario on July 21st to participate in the 28th Annual Ambassador Cup Tournament. Knowing that only the top team in each of the four groups of their 16 team division would make the semi-finals, the Wild took the field with determination. 

In the group stage the boys tied Whitby A 1-1 in a hard fought first game, defeated Caven FC 4-0 in their second game and won 4-0 against the Cumberland Cobras in the third game. Finishing at the top of their group, the boys advanced to the semi-finals as they had set out to do. 

Up against the Brampton Blast, the Wild's defense skills were tested when OSC's goalie came out of the game due to injury and defender Ricky S. stepped in to take over as keeper. The stand-in keeper and defense rose to the occasion and the boys won 2-1 to advance to the final.

In the final against Brantford Galaxy Black, a tense battle ensued but neither team budged, fininshing the game with a 0-0 tie. After five penalty kicks, the shoot-out continued to sudden death. On the 7th shot, Brantford took the advantage and the Wild took the silver medal.

OSC's player exhibited fantastic sportsmanship as they congratulated Brantford players on their win, and displayed integrity, skill and respect throughout the tournament.

The Ambassador Cup was the third tournament in a row in which the BU14C team made the finals.
