Oakville Wild BU17B Team Takes League Cup

On August 20th, OSC's Boys U17B team took the field against Dixie to compete for the Golden Horseshoe Elite League Cup.

Both teams scored in the first half and kept it tied up for the remainder of the game forcing them to penalty kicks to decide the winner. Thanks to some stellar goalkeeping and some fantastic shots, the Wild finished the PK's 4-2 to take the League Cup for the second year in a row!

Oakville Wild GU13B Team Takes Top Spot at Michigan Tournament

In mid-August, OSC's Girls U13B team headed to the St. Clair Shores Waterfront Invitational in Michigan and made an immediate impression.

Coming out of the round-robin undefeated (with 16 goals for and 0 against) the girls were off to the final against the Michigan Thundercats O4 Orange.

Scoreless after two 35 minutes halves and two 10 minute overtime periods, the game went to penalty kicks. Still tied after 5 shooters, it went to sudden death.

After some incredible Wild goalkeeping, OSC's girls finally prevailed! It was a great game, and a fun weekend and a fantastic finish to the weekend,

Boys U13C Team Snags Second Place at Simcoe Tournament

The Boys U13C team played hard and landed a second place finish at the Lake Simcoe Soccer Club Boys Rep Tournament.

The boys had three back to back victories and an impressive 20 goals scored in the group round. In a hard fought final against Newmarket United, the boys found themseves down 2 goals early in the game but fought back hard in the second half and scored two equalizers. Just when it looked like the game was heading for a draw and would go to shootout, a final minute attack from Newmarket ended the game 3-2.

The whole team played with skill and excellent sportsmanship! Congratulations to all players, coaches, team officials and parents on a great showing at the Lake Simcoe Tournament! Go Oakville Wild!

Boys U16C Team Finishes First at Lake Simcoe Tournament

In late July, OSC's Boys U16C team headed to Keswick, Ontario to participate in the Lake Simcoe Soccer Club Boys Rep Tournament. Hot off of two consecutive tournament wins so far this season (H.E.A.D.S Up! Cup and the Icebreaker Outdoor Soccer Tournament), the boys went into this tournament not only to make it three in a row, but to defend their title as the 2016 Lake Simcoe Tournament champs in their division.

In a tough U16/17 combined division, the boys started out with a tie in their first game, but they gained momentum in their second match with a 4-0 win and their third match with a 4-1 victory. Heading into the final the boys were ready defend their title and did just that with a 3-1 win.

The boys played with heart, skill and teamwork and certainly deserved their third consecutive tournament win! Congratulations to all playes, coaches, team officials and parents! Go Oakville Wild!

BU16B Team Takes First in Division at NYC Cup

In mid-July, OSC's Boys U16B team travelled to the Big Apple to participate in the NYC Cup Showcase. The NYC Cup attracts teams from all over the United States and Canada and is extremely well attended by college coaches and scouts.

The boys played a fantastic tournament, topping their division with 4 games played and 4 games won! 

Congratulations to all players, coaches, team officials and parents on a fantastic tournament! Keep up the great work!

Girls U16B Team Takes First at Ambassador Cup

Over the weekend of July 8th & 9th, OSC's Girls U16B team travelled to Kingston, Ontario to participate in the 27th Annual Ambassador Cup.

The ladies finished first in their pool in during round robin play with one wil and two draws.

In the semi-finals, the girls took on a strong Ottawa team but prevailed with a 1-0 shutout and headed to the finals.

Against Kemptville (who they had beated 3-2 in the round robin stage), the girls delivered another stellar performance scoring two goals and saving all shots on net to win 2-0.

Congratulations to the GU16B players, coaches, team officials and parents for a fantastic showing at the Ambassador Cup!
