Boys U16C Team Takes Second Straight Tournament Championship

OSC's Boys U16C team headed to Ottawa on June 3rd and 4th to participate in the 2017 Icebreaker Soccer Tournament.

Playing a whopping 8 games in two days, the boys faced tough teams in fluctuating weather conditions, but played with skillful determination in each game.

After 6 games and 15 goals for, the boys played a tough semi-final match in game seven that was forced into Penalty Kicks, but the boys stood tall together and finished it 4-2 to advance to the finals. 

Playing against a team that had defeated them earlier in the tournament, the boys knew what they were up against, and came out strong scoring the only goal of the game in the first 10 minutes. With a 1-0 win in the final, the boys finished the tournament as the U16 champions.

2 OSC Female Teams Top Divisions at Chili Invitational

OSC's Girls U14B team and Girls U15B team took their age groups by storm at the Chili Invitational in Rochester, New York on June 3rd and June 4th.

The Girls U14B team (the only Canadian team in their division) played their first two games in the sunshine on Saturday, tying the first game against Spencerport Gold and playing a solid game but ultimating losing to Gates Matro Hurricanes 2-1.

In the pouring rain on Sunday morning the girls were back in action, and the weather didn't slow them down with a 5-0 win over FC Dynamo. Later in the day, the rain cleared up as the girls took the field against Spencerport Gold for an exciting final that needed extra time to decide the victor. OSC's girls came out on top with a set piece corner kick that ended the game 1-0.

The Girls U15 team also tied their first game on Saturday 0-0 against the Chili Attack. Next up was a 4-0 win over RHSC Falcons Davis in the sunshine on Saturday afternoon. 

The pouring rain on Sunday posed no problem for the girls as they took a 4-0 victory over the Stormers Ice and rounded out the tournament with a strong 2-0 win against their second meeting with the Chili Attack in the final to become their divison champions.

The Oakville Soccer Club was extremely well represented at this tournament, with players from both teams showing extreme skill, resiliance, exceptional sportsmanship and respect for their opponents. The Club is extremely proud of both teams, and congratulates all players, coaches, team officials and parents on a fantastic tournament! Keep it up, ladies! #GoOakvilleWild

Sweet Victories at Hershey Cup for Boys U13B and U17B Teams

OSC's Boys U13B and U17B teams travelled to Hershey, Pennsylvania from May 26 - May 28 for the Hershey Memorial Day Challenge, and both finished at the top of their divisions.

After winning their first two games on Saturday morning, the U13 boys took on Commack SC Ambush in an attempt to qualify for the finals. With a swift 2-1 victory in that game, they advanced to the finals against West Islip Alliance. The boys put their best boots forward and took the victory with a 4-1 win.

The BU17 team found themselves in a tie within their bracket after the group stage and took the field bright and early on Sunday morning to participate in a penalty shootout against the Hershey Demolition to see who would advance. With some huge saves and great shots, OSC's boys advanced. In the semi-final match against Clarence Inferno, the boys were down after the first half but never gave up and tied the game with 5 minutes left. The boys ended the game with a 2-1 win thanks to a goal in extra time and advanced to the finals, where they played an excellent game and won their bracket with a 4-1 victory over Mount Laurel United Sharks.

Both teams represented the Club extremely well, and played with determination and excellent sportsmanship through the whole tournament. Congratulations to all players, coaches, team officials and parents on a fantastic showing at the Hershey Memorial Day Challenge! #GoOakvilleWild

Boys U13C Team Takes First at Ancaster Tournament

On June 3th and 4th, the Oakville Wild BU13C team palyed in the Ancaster Heritage Days Tournament.

In the group stage games, the boys kicked if off with a huge 7-0 win over Athletico HEADS, and followed it up with three more wins and no goals conceded against FDSC West (2-0), FEDS (3-0) and MHYSC (2-0).

Up against FEDS again in the final, the boys scored 2 goals in the first four minutes. They continued their domination throughout the game and finished with an incredible 9-0 win. Motivated by their enthusiastic group of parents and supporters, the boys scored a total of 23 goals and conceded zero! 

The team exhibited teamwork, dedication, skill and heart in every game and we're extremely proud of them! Congratulations to all players, coaches, team officials and parents on a well deserved tournament win! #GoOakvilleWild

BU16C Team Champs for 2nd Year at H.E.A.D.S Up! Cup

On May 27th & 28th, 2017, OSC's Boys U16C team played in the 5th Annual H.E.A.D.S. Up! Cup Tournament at Barbour Fields, Hillsburgh.

The Tournament began with two games on Saturday. With wins against Etobicoke (2-0) and Stouffville (1-0), the team moved onto the semi-finals Sunday morning and would face and ultimately defeat Etobicoke once again (1-0).  Facing Cambridge later that afternoon in the final, the boys played a hard-faught game, scoring with just two-minutes left in the game to win 1-0. All four games won without conceding a single goal.

As Champions of the 4th Annual H.E.A.D.S. Up! Cup as a U15 team, the boys returned to this tournament determined to uphold their title. With heart, skill and teamwork, they did just that.

Girls U16A Team Take Championship at First on the Turf Tournament

Congratulations to OSC's Girls U16A team for taking the championship at the First on the Turn tournament in Guelph in early May. 

The girls played a total of 5 games, winning all five. The team scored 12 goals in total and allowed none throughout the games against teams from Guelph, Cambridge and Milton in the U16 bracket.

The final was played against the Guelph Gryphon Red team. OSC's girls finished the tournament strong with a 3-0 win.
