Breaking Barriers Program - 2022 Spring Session

The Oakville Soccer Club is proud to announce the return of the Breaking Barriers program!

Designed for participants with developmental and/or physical disabilities, this program is facilitated by OSC’s qualified and energetic staff and dedicated volunteers.

Breaking Barriers will introduce participants to the fundamentals of physical literacy and the sport of soccer.
Players will enjoy a comfortable and inclusive environment and will be able to learn and engage at their own pace while making new friends. 


Breaking Barriers 2022 Spring Session

Program Day & Time: Wednesday - 5:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.

Program Session: 6 weeks - March 23- April 27

Location: Pine Glen Soccer Centre – 1520 Pine Glen Road, Oakville, ON L6M 4P4 (Indoor Field)

Cost: $30 per participant

Ages: U4 - U14 (2018 - 2008 birth years)
*If you have a player who is outisde of the age bracket but would still like to participate, please contact the program administrator listed below.

Equipment: Players should wear comfortable, recreational clothing and running shoes or soccer cleats to each session. Shin pads are encouraged.

Accompaniment: Each participant must have a parent/guardian/caregiver present for the duration of each session to ensure their comfort. Volunteers will integrate with players and assist them with activities, but caregivers are required to participate in programming should their player need assistance.

Volunteering with the Breaking Barriers Program

Are you interested in being a part of an incredible program that makes a difference in children's lives? If yes, then volunteer your time as a Breaking Barriers Coach! 

If you are passionate about physical literacy and working with youth with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, this is the role for you. Volunteer coaches are expected to be responsible, positive, supportive, engaging and outgoing to ensure that participants are having fun while being safe at all times.

Volunteer coaches should be available Wednesday evenings from 4:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.. for the full Breaking Barriers term.
