2022 Fall Indoor Breaking Barriers Program

The Oakville Soccer Club is pleased to offer the Breaking Barriers program for the 2022 Fall season!

Breaking Barriers provides opportunities for players with intellectual and/or physical disabilities to learn the FUNdamentals of the game of soccer, physical literacy and have fun on the field! 

Facilitated by experienced staff and enthusiastic volunteers, the Breaking Barriers program provides a integrated and inclusive experience for all participants, letting players engage and grow within the game at their own pace. 

All players are welcome to join us on the field and enjoy the beautiful game! 

 

Program Details & Registration

Day of Play: Wednesday

Game Start Time: 5:00pm               

Season Length & Dates: 10 weeks – October 5th – December 7th

Fee: $75

Oakville Soccer Club – Pine Glen Indoor Soccer Center

1520 Pine Glen Rd., Oakville

Participant age:

U5-U15 (2018 – 2008 year of birth)*

*If you have a player who is outside of the age bracket but would still like to participate, please contact the program administrator

Players per group: 30

Coach structure: Breaking Barriers coaches and volunteers will facilitate activities and games.

Accompaniment: Each participant must have a parent/guardian/caregiver present for the duration of each session to ensure their comfort. Volunteers will integrate with players and assist them with activities, but caregivers are required to participate in programming should their player need assistance.

Session Length: 45 minutes

Equipment Included:  Jersey

Equipment Required: Players should wear comfortable, recreational clothing and running shoes or soccer cleats to each session. Shin pads are encouraged.

Volunteering with the Breaking Barriers Program

Are you interested in being a part of an incredible program that makes a difference in children's lives? If yes, then volunteer your time as a Breaking Barriers Coach! 

If you are passionate about physical literacy and working with youth with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, this is the role for you. Volunteer coaches are expected to be responsible, positive, supportive, engaging and outgoing to ensure that participants are having fun while being safe at all times.

Volunteer coaches should be available Wednesday evenings from 4:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.. for the full Breaking Barriers term.
