Given the current circumstances, the Oakville Soccer Club has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Summer House League and Ultimate House League seasons as well as the 2020 Summer Open Development Program.
As these programs were designed for a pre-Covid environment, the Club has made the decision to cancel these programs for the safety of our players, volunteers, coaches, match officials and spectators.
OSC will issue full refunds to all 2020 Summer House League, Ultimate House League and Open Development Program participants. We are committed to completing refunds as quickly as possible but ask for your patience and allow up to four weeks for processing due to volume and available resources.
The Oakville Soccer Club is closely monitoring this ever-changing situation, and is exploring opportunities to provide alternate recreational programming as soon as possible. If in the event we are able to put programming into place this summer, information will be posted on this page and on our social media channels.
If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Stay safe and well.
OSC's Open Development program is available to players between the ages of U6-U15 (2014-2005) who would like to further develop their soccer skills.
ODP is led by OSC's highly qualified and knowledgeable coaching staff. This program is ideal for experienced soccer players who wish to enhance their skills, and for players who are new to the sport and would like to learn more and gain more experience on the field. As this is an individual development program, players participate in a short evaluation period at the beginning of the season, are identified and tiered according to their ability levels to ensure they are placed in an environment conducive to learning.
The Open Development Program's training curriculum is centered around the Canadian Soccer Association's Long Term Player Development (LTPD) program. ODP covers key skill development years in LTPD (U6-U15) and consists of activities that help players get a feel for the ball while teaching basic technical fundamentals of the game in a FUN but structured setting.
OSC's Open Development Program offers a player pathway for aspiring players wishing to be part of the Club's Advanced Development Program (ADP) and Competitive Program (RDP). Player Identification is an ongoing process and players who show signs of potential may, at any time during the program, be invited into an ADP or RDP practice by OSC's Grassroots Progams Manager.
Players will be taught the following skill sets of the game that are age and stage specific to their development:
- Age and stage appropriate movement skills
- Ball manipulation skills
- Individual attacking principles
- Ball striking techniques
- Passing and possession skills
- Small sided games
